"Once again, I would like to thank you for including
Allison in your play, In Our Hands Now!
Allison is a talented young lady & it was
wonderful for her to have the chance
to perform with her peers.
The theme of the play itself,
about REAL students, is a perfect place
to include students like Allison,
as herself, who may have a disability -
but still have talent & A-Bility ... "

"Performing in a musical as amazing as
In Our Hands Now! was the kind of opportunity
that rarely comes to students today.
By being a part of the cast, I not only
had the chance to learn about my peers,
I also learned a great deal about myself.
I gained a new understanding of what people go
through in their daily lives, & how it is nearly
impossible to imagine what someone is dealing
with unless you know the whole story.
Just by looking at Dezha you would never know
that her desire to be a star was painfully tearing
her life apart, or that she was not as selfish
as she sometimes acted.
I also learned that the little setbacks we thought
were big problems were actually just big
opportunities in disguise.
In an 'eye-opening' moment I realized that every
word & every character had meaning & could
offer knowledge to the cast & audience ... "

"The grind of wrestling season was weighing
heavily on my shoulders, & though I was having
a successful year, I felt that a change was needed.
Never having any experience with drama,
I auditioned for In Our Hands Now! more out of
curiosity than anything else. When I went to the
auditions, I didn't know what to expect,
but by the end of the opening performance,
I found that there is something for everyone
in this play. The singer, the actor, the dancer,
the athlete, the cheerleader, the gearhead,
the preppy, the goofball, anyone who is
interested can find a niche in the cast.
Even the wrestler."

Lighten Up:
"I really liked it actually: goofy but interesting.
Found it to be very amusing:
could make for a very funny song."
Making It Through:
"Scratch part I thought was really cool."
How Do We Know What's Out There?:
"Really reminded me of The Flaming Lips:
contrast of the beautiful & happy & the dark
& gothic.
I felt this came from the soft lyrics & sounds
accompanied by the very heavy drums & beat.
I like it a lot & really couldn't believe
the similarities to The Flaming Lips."

"Wow! I sure enjoyed that day, watching
In Our Hands Now! You covered so many
issues that are important to kids, not just
one or two, but a complex array of them,
just like kids really have to deal with in real life
in today's world.
You didn't take a pansy approach to them either,
making them seem trivial or childish.
I really liked the show!"
